Khopra Dada

7 Days

Khopra Danda, often referred to as Khopra Ridge, is a relatively unknown but growingly well-liked trekking location in Nepal’s Annapurna region. It is a more off-the-beaten-path journey that is more secluded and offers breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna mountain ranges. This walk will take you higher and to another fantastic view of the Annapurnas than the more common (and busier) Ghorepani climb.

In addition to experiencing traditional villages, terraced farms, amazing mountain peaks (including Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak), and Poon Hill – in the Annapurna region – this recently launched trek route by Mahabir Poon takes you through lesser-known paths to Khopra Danda. A number of traditional Gurung and Magar communities, woods, and rhododendron forests are encountered along the journey, which departs from Nayapul. Visiting Khayer Lake, a high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains, is one of the trek’s highlights.
